Many years ago, before the formation of the Guardians, there was a group of Weavers who explored their art a little to deeply, the result, Rifts, tears in time and space to other lands.
When they learned how to control them they became very powerful indeed, travel from one location to another could happen instantaneously, but not without risk as a few would find out, this particular ability still exists today but has been fashioned into a new weave that is safer for the traveler.
The powers that be at the time vied to control those that controlled the Rift and the plain’s war began, this lasted for 12 years and only ended because we where forced to unite.
